Mulas Dairy Mitigation

 

Establishment of 2.64 acres of brackish marsh on the bank of Schell Creek in southern Sonoma County. The new marsh was constructed on diked baylands on the Mulas Dairy property in Schellville, CA. The site is presently used as pasture by the dairy. The project serves as mitigation for residential development in Marin County. Approximately 16,000 cubic yards soil excavation and new channel grading. 14,420 marsh plants and 3 acres of native hydroseeding, site stabilization. 2 cattle gates and 1,100 lineal feet of wildlife friendly fencing was installed along the perimeter of the new marsh.
